How to make grilled clams

There is no doubt that clams are one of the most commonly enjoyed seafood. There are many ways in which we can prepare them, but if what we want is a simple recipe, quickly prepared and that allows us to enjoy the authentic taste of the sea, nothing better than make some grilled clams. So that the final result is as expected, we advise you to buy fresh and good quality clams. Likewise, it is best to cook the clams as soon as possible once purchased, in the case of acquiring them the day before, keep them in the refrigerator covered with a clean damp cloth, so they will remain in perfect condition.


Just before preparing grilled clams, you must remove them from the refrigerator and place them in a bowl with cold water and a little salt. Leave them to soak for at least 15 or 20 minutes to release all the grit and debris they may contain inside. When cooking, you should rinse them and drain them well.


Now it's time to prepare a kind of light sauce with oil, garlic and parsley which will help you to flavor the clams and get a much richer recipe. First, chop some parsley sprigs with the help of a knife, leaving them as thin as possible, and then do the same with the garlic cloves. In a small bowl, mix both ingredients and add a glass of extra virgin olive oil, stir and go! Put a fairly wide pan on the fire, add a jet of olive oil and when it is very hot, enter all clams drained so that they are well separated between them and do not pile up. Otherwise, they will not cook well at all. Sprinkle the clams with the oil, garlic and parsley sauce that you have previously prepared, remove and cover the pan with a lid.


Just skip the clams in the fire for a few minutes, they will be done when you see that the shells have opened, something that will happen very quickly if they are fresh and of good quality. Once opened, remove the pan from the heat and serve on a plate or tray.
